Hi, I’m Jillian! I’m an editor, author, and word nerd. I started my publishing career working in book awards, and have since gone on to edit everything from calendars to children’s books to young adult novels to nonfiction. I’ve worked at independent publishing houses and Big 5 houses, so I’ve seen it all!

This blog was born out of a writer’s conference where I had folks asking me about formats, page counts, and other publishing-insider questions. I wanted to create a site where people could go to get answers to their writing and publishing questions from an editor’s perspective. Enter, Editor Says!

Here you’ll find posts to answer your writing and publishing questions. Much of it will pertain to the children’s and YA industries, and all of it will be based on my own experiences and opinions.
